lot n°777: SOME LIKE IT HOT BEHIND-THE-SCENES MOVIE REEL WITH COPYRIGHT
A behind-the-scenes amateur reel filmed on the set of Some Like It Hot (United Artists, 1959) sold with copyright. The color reel, with no audio, shows the cast of the film, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, and Tony Curtis, on the beach outside the Hotel Coronado in San Diego, California. Monroe can be seen in a black and white swimsuit and wearing two different robes. Curtis is shown in his swim trunks and wearing a suit coat. Lemmon appears in full makeup as his female character Daphne. The four-minute, 32-second film has been converted to a DVD.

A Marilyn Monroe owned perfume bottle housed in a green case. Nuit de Noel perfume by Caron in a vintage opaque black glass bottle with decorative gold foil label and a faceted stopper. In the original faux shagreen cardboard case with attached silk tassel. The box is marked inside the lid “Caron 10 rue de la Paix Paris France.” The case can be seen in a 1952 photograph taken of Monroe in her home. The bottle was given to Frank Rosenberg and his wife by Marilyn Monroe. Rosenberg’s connection to Monroe was not only in films; his father was a business partner of Arthur Miller’s father. Height, 4 5/8 inches

lot n°774: MARILYN MONROE THEDA BARA CLEOPATRA COSTUME
A harem costume worn by Marilyn Monroe for a 1958 photoshoot with Richard Avedon. Avedon dressed Monroe as five of Hollywood’s famed leading ladies. In this costume, Monroe dressed as Theda Bara in her role as Cleopatra. It is purported that this was part of Monroe’s campaign to play the role of the Egyptian queen in the film Cleopatra that eventually starred Elizabeth Taylor. The costume is comprised of a goldtone brassierewith snake motif cups, prong set costume gems and metal ring straps, and a skirt created by a series of scarves affixed to a gold lame bikini bottom. The accessories include a serpentine headdress with goldtone linked rings at each side, three pressed metal wristbands and armbands with arabesque designs, and a belt designed to be worn at the hip with goldtone bead, gen and paillette embellishments.  Accompanied by one scarfnot affixed to skirt. lot n°784: MARILYN MONROE SCREEN WORN COSTUME
A raw silk pink ensemble worn by Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch (20th Century Fox, 1955). The costume is composed of a three-quarter-length-sleeve top and tapered leg pants containing a costumer’s label that reads “Marilyn Monroe A-734” and a maker’s label that reads “designed by Jax.” Pants feature back zipper closure and shirt features deep V neckline with wing collar. Monroe can be seen wearing the ensemble with a matching belt, now absent, as she portrayed “The Girl” in the film. No size present.
