Le 21 juin 1960, Marilyn Monroe et Yves Montand se rendent à la preview du film "La garçonnière" ("The Apartment") de Billy Wilder avec Shirley McLaine et Jack Lemmon, à Los Angeles.
L'actrice Shirley McLaine était présente, elle raconte: "Je me souviens que Marilyn Monroe était à la projection. Elle n'avait pas de maquillage et était enveloppée dans un manteau de vison. De sa voix basse elle a dit en susurrant... "Le film est une magnifique analyse sur le monde de l'entreprise." J'en étais bouche bée!"

The actress Shirley MacLaine was present, she says: "I remember Marilyn Monroe was at the screening. She had no makeup on and was wrapped up in a mink coat. In her low whispery voice she said… "The picture is a wonderful examination of the corporate world." My mouth flew open! She got it!"
