It looks like there is a camera to the man's left - maybe he is a studio photographer.

Indeed I saw it too; or maybe a journalist ?! I don't know the "who / what / where / when " ; the photo is published on several blogs about Marilyn but none indication, often the mention "during Dangerous Years"... but it's not on the shooting of film, and not sure for the year: 1947 or 1948 (she has the same style -hair dress and clothes - than the "Artichoke Queen" in 1948 : http://divinemarilyn.canalblog.com/archives/2008/09/05/10474250.html ) This picture is a mystery.
