Les filles de la revue musicale sortent de leur grande loge commune. En dernière de la file, Mae Martin (Adele Jergens) va ouvrir la porte de la loge de sa fille Peggy et l'appelle, mais comme elle n'est pas là, elle referme la porte et se dirige vers la scène. En croisant Joe (Frank J Scannell), qui s'occupe de l'organisation, elle lui demande si Peggy est arrivée. Joe ne l'a pas vu et dit à Mae que Peggy doit être sur scène dans 15 minutes. Mae rejoint la scène et les autres danseuses. C'est alors que Peggy Martin (Marilyn Monroe) arrive précipitemment et cours dans sa loge pour se préparer. Joe retourne sur le côté des coulisses de la scène et regarde la prestation de danse des filles.
The girls of the musical revue come out of their common dressing room. Last in line, Mae Martin (Adele Jergens) goes to open the door to her daughter Peggy's dressing room and calls out to her, but since she isn't there, she closes the door and heads for the stage. Meeting Joe (Frank J Scannell), who takes care of the organization, she asks him if Peggy has arrived. Joe hasn't seen her and tells Mae that Peggy must be on stage in 15 minutes. Mae joins the stage and the other dancers. That's when Peggy Martin (Marilyn Monroe) rushes in and runs to her dressing room to get ready. Joe returns to the backstage side of the stage and watches the girls' dance performance.
Après avoir terminé sa prestation, Mae Martin va dans la loge de sa fille Peggy. Celle-ci est assise en train de terminer de se maquiller. Quand Mae lui demande où elle était, Peggy lui répond très enthousiaste qu'elle a passé un moment merveilleux avec un parfait gentleman. Mae lui demande de qui il s 'agit et Peggy de répondre que c'est Randy Carroll. Mais Mae ne le connait pas, elle lui demande donc qui est-il. Et Peggy lui répond toute enchantée qu'il s 'agit de l'homme qui lui a offert toutes les orchidées et qu'il souhaite la revoir. C'est alors que Joe appelle Peggy à travers la porte car c'est son tour de chant. Peggy embrasse sa mère et sort de la pièce. Mae prend un air soucieux et tient l'orchidée dans ses mains.
After finishing her performance, Mae Martin goes to her daughter Peggy's dressing room. This one is sitting finishing her makeup. When Mae asks her where she was, Peggy enthusiastically replies that she had a wonderful time with a perfect gentleman. Mae asks her who he is and Peggy replies that it's Randy Carroll. But Mae doesn't know him, so she asks who he is. And Peggy replies quite enchanted that he is the man who offers her all the orchids and that he wants to see her again. That's when Joe calls Peggy through the door because it's her turn to sing. Peggy hugs her mother and leaves the room. Mae looks worried and holds the orchid in her hands.
