Lot 02: Marilyn Monroe Circa 1949 Early Autograph
A single sheet of small yellow paper removed from an autograph book; signed in blue fountain pen ink "To Beverly / Marilyn Monroe" -- "Beverly" being Beverly Heon, an autograph collector who lived in Los Angeles and who likely acquired this signature in 1949 based on Signe Hasso's signature and date of "5/22/49" on the verso; Marilyn would not have been well-known at all at this stage in her career, so it's interesting that Beverly asked the 22 year-old starlet to sign her book!
Dimensions: 4.5 x 5.5 inches

Estimate: $300 - $500 USD / Sold: $2,560

Lot 03: Marilyn Monroe 1954 Signed Check Endorsed by Milton H. Greene
A standard issue one; from the Trade Bank and Trust Company in NYC (though that was replaced with MM's Los Angeles bank penned in an unknown hand), also in someone else's hand is "Dec. 20, 1954 / Cash  $500," penned in red ballpoint ink by Marilyn is "five hundred 00/100" and then her signature in the lower right corner "Marilyn Monroe"; interestingly, the verso is endorsed in black fountain pen ink and reads "For deposit only to the / account of / Milton H. Greene" -- MM's shortlived friend and business partner; with normal cancellation and punch-out stamps.

Lot 05: Marilyn Monroe Circa 1957 Large Tan-Colored Accordion File Full of Fan Mail

Taken on July 7, 1962, less than one month before her death, Grant's photographs of Marilyn Monroe are now in the realm of legend. In a strange twist of fate, they were published for the first time in the August 3, 1962 issue of LIFE Magazine, just two days before her passing. Though we've seen a few of Grant's beautiful and haunting images of the star for decades now, this particular photograph has never been seen by the public.
Grant shot twelve rolls of black and white film that day in July, though only eight images were seen in LIFE. In the years that followed, he created a limited number of prints for licensing and private sale, leaving most of his Monroe archive untouched and unseen by the public.
In 2025, Grant's family partnered with Chris Flannery & Jason Greene of 1962 MM LLC to exhibit, print, and offer these rediscovered works in the collection "Marilyn's Lost Photos." Julien's is proud to present one of these "Lost Photos" here.
