31/05/1957, New York - Arthur Miller convoqué à Washington

Le 31 mai 1957 Marilyn Monroe et son mari Arthur Miller quittent leur appartement de New York pour se rendre à Washington.
Arthur Miller a été condamné par un juge fédéral pour outrage au Congrès pour avoir refusé d'identifier les écrivains communistes avec lesquels il avait participé à des réunions il y a 10 ans. Miller a refusé de commenter alors qu'une petite armée de journalistes s'était rassemblée dans la rue devant son domicile.

On May 31, 1957, Marilyn Monroe and her husband Arthur Miller left their New York apartment to go to Washington.
Arthur Miller was convicted by a federal judge of contempt of congress for refusing to identify Communist writers with whom he attended meetings 10 years ago.
Miller declined to comment as a small army of reporters gathered in street outside his home.

Un journaliste aborde Arthur Miller, lui demandant: "Monsieur Miller, êtes-vous très déçu de la décision de la cour ?". Miller l'ignore, sans lui porter le moindre regard.
Alors le journaliste s'avance vers Marilyn, lui posant la question: "Madame Miller, avez-vous des commentaires à faire à ce sujet ?". Elle ne lui répond pas et monte dans la voiture.

A reporter approaches Arthur Miller, asking him: "Mr. Miller, are you very disappointed with the court's decision?" Miller ignores him, without even looking at him.
Then the reporter walks up to Marilyn, asking her: "Mrs. Miller, do you have any comments on this?" She doesn't answer him and gets into the car.
