C'est le 19 mai 1950 qu'a lieu la sortie nationale américaine du film dans les cinémas. Le film bénéficie d'une bande-annonce en noir et blanc. En fond sonore est diffusé la chanson "A Ticket to Tomahawk (On the Colorado Trail)" écrite pour le film (musique de Harry Warren et paroles de Mack Gordon), ainsi qu'un extrait de la scène musicale "Oh, What a Forward Young Man You Are" dans laquelle apparaît Marilyn Monroe. 
Le film est présenté avec plusieurs slogans (traduction en français): "Tous à bord pour le temps de votre vie !", "Vous êtes sur la bonne voie pour une excitation pleine à craquer... pour un divertissement empilé... Un tour de joie vers la ville où la musique et les rires ne s'arrêtent jamais... Un billet pour Tomahawk" ; "C'est l'histoire que vous n'avez pas entendue du voyageur de commerce et de la fille du Marshal !"; "Pour un voyage musical chargé de rires non-stop."
Un extrait assez important du film est inclu: celui de la scène romantique entre Dan Dailey et Anne Baxter. Bien que dans le film, les scènes de romances soient peu nombreuses, il est intéressant de noter ce choix d'inclure cette scène dans la bande annonce, sans doute afin d'attirer un public plus important. Les scènes d'action sont, quand à elles, très courtes (quelques secondes). Le train (et son sifflement) sont mis en évidence à plusieurs reprises.
Seuls quatre noms d'acteurs sont cités; les deux rôles principaux sont présentés deux fois: Dan Dailey (présenté sous l'accroche "comme le mec qui l'a mise dans l'ambiance") et Anne Baxter (suivie de la présentation "Regardez les balles tomber quand Annie récupère son arme !"), puis les noms de Rory Calhoun et Walter Brennan apparaissent à l'écran, alors qu'on ne les voit pas dans les images sélectionnées pour la bande annonce (excepté Calhoun, vu de dos, ou de loin lors de la bagarre sur le train).
Le titre du film apparaît à trois reprises: la dernière mention du titre contient un écran avec les noms du réalisateur (Richard Sale) et producteur (Robert Bassler) ainsi que le nom du studio "20th Century Fox", puis un écran avec la mention de la technique du Technicolor.

It was on May 19, 1950 that the American national release of the film took place in theatres. The film has a black and white trailer. In the background is played the song "A Ticket to Tomahawk (On the Colorado Trail)" written for the film (music by Harry Warren and lyrics by Mack Gordon), as well as an excerpt from the musical scene "Oh, What a Forward Young Man You Are" in which Marilyn Monroe appears.
The film is presented with several slogans: "All aboard for the time of your life!", "You're on the right track for an excitement packed... for entainement stacked... Joy Ride to the town where the music and laughter never stop... A Ticket to Tomahawk"; "This is the story you didn't hear about the traveling salesman and the marshal's daughter!"; "For a non-stop tune-trip loaded with laughs."
A rather important excerpt from the film is included: that of the romantic scene between Dan Dailey and Anne Baxter. Although in the film, the romance scenes are few, it is interesting to note this choice to include this scene in the trailer, no doubt in order to attract a larger audience. The action scenes are very short (few seconds). The train (and its whistle) are highlighted several times.
Only four names of actors are cited; the two main roles are presented twice: Dan Dailey (presented under the teaser "as the Dude who put her in the mood") and Anne Baxter (followed by the presentation "Just watch the balls fall when Annie gets her gun!" ), then the names of Rory Calhoun and Walter Brennan appear on the screen, whereas there is no images of them selected for the trailer (except Calhoun, seen from behind, or from afar during the fight on the train). Marilyn Monroe apparaît furtivement à trois reprises dans la bande-annonce. Chacune de ses apparitions reprend des scènes du film. Néanmoins, après comparaison des scènes qui figurent dans le film, on s'aperçoit que les scènes sont légèrement différentes et par conséquent, la bande-annonce comporte ainsi des scènes alternatives ou des séquences parallèles à celles incluses dans le film. Ainsi, ces scènes ont sans doute été retournées à l'identique pour les besoins de la bande-annonce.

Marilyn Monroe stealthily appears three times in the trailer. Each of her appearances uses scenes from the film. However, after comparing the scenes that appear in the film, it is seen that the scenes are slightly different and therefore, the trailer thus has alternative scenes or parallel sequences to those included in the film. So these scenes were no doubt filmed again identical for the purposes of the trailer.

Dans la bande-annonce, la scène de la chanson est introduite par un cadrage plus serré de Dan Dailey en arrière plan en train de sentir la fleur qu'il tient dans sa main et s'avançant ensuite vers les filles; tandis que dans le film, la scène fait suite au tango qu'il danse avec Joyce MacKenzie, Dailey fait des pas en arrière pour se retrouver en retrait, le cadrage du plan est bien plus large et il se penche en avant en tenant la fleur sans la sentir.
In the trailer, the song's scene is introduced by a tighter frame of Dan Dailey in the background smelling the flower he's holding in his hand and then walking towards the girls; while in the film, the scene follows the tango he dances with Joyce MacKenzie, Dailey takes steps back to find himself in the background, the framing of the shot is much wider and he leans forward holding the flower without feeling it.

 

Quand les filles se tiennent à Dan Dailey et qu'il porte la fleur à son nez pour la sentir: les expressions du visage de Dailey sont différentes. Il fait beaucoup plus de grimaces et de mimiques dans la scène de la bande-annonce que dans celle du film. Même les filles n'ont pas les mêmes postures.
When the girls hold on to Dan Dailey and he brings the flower up to his nose to smell it: Dailey's facial expressions are different. He makes a lot more grimaces and mimics in the trailer scene than one in the movie. Even the girls don't have the same postures.

   

Toujours par comparaison, image figée de la scène lorsque Dan Dailey termine sa chanson et les filles prennent une pose statique à côté de lui: dans le film, le visage de Marilyn est à moitié caché par le chapeau de Joyce MacKenzie (en robe bleue), tandis que dans la bande-annonce, on distingue parfaitement son visage.
Still by comparison, frozen image of the scene when Dan Dailey finishes his song and the girls take a static pose next to him: in the film, Marilyn's face is half hidden by Joyce MacKenzie's hat (in blue dress), while in the trailer we clearly distinguish her face.

La différence est très subtile dans les positions des corps des filles. Marilyn a la tête plus en arrière dans la bande-annonce que dans la scène du film; Barbara Smith (la dernière à arriver, en robe verte), se penche beaucoup plus en avant dans la scène du film que celle de la bande-annonce.
The difference is very subtle in the positions of the girls' bodies. Marilyn has her head further back in the trailer than in the movie scene; Barbara Smith (the last to arrive, in a green dress), leans much further forward in the movie scene than in the trailer.

 

• Troisième apparition de Marilyn dans la bande-annonce: la scène où le convoi part avec les filles qui s'installent dans la roulotte. On y voit les filles ranger leur grands chapeaux dans leurs boîtes puis elles enfilent un autre chapeau (une sorte de bonnette, plus confortable pour voyager). Ce plan ne figure pas dans le film où on voit les filles monter dans la roulotte avec leurs grands chapeaux sur la tête, puis le plan suivant les montre avec leurs bonnettes sur la tête.
  Third appearance of Marilyn in the trailer: the scene where the convoy leaves with the girls who settle in the trailer. We see the girls put away their big hats in their boxes and then they put on another hat (a kind of bonnet, more comfortable for travelling). This shot does not appear in the film where we see the girls getting into the trailer with their big hats on their heads, then the next shot shows them with their bonnets on their heads.
