L'actrice Anna Strasberg est décédée à l'âge de 84 ans le 07 janvier 2023.

Née le 16 avril 1939 sous le nom de Anna Mizrahi à Caracas (au Venezuela), elle est actrice en Israel puis fréquente la classe libre de l'Actors Studio à New York, dont les cours sont enseignés par Lee Strasberg. En janvier 1968, elle devient la troisième épouse de Lee Strasberg (2 ans après le décès de sa femme Paula); ils avaient 38 ans de différence d'âge. Ils auront ensemble deux enfants: Adam Strasberg (né en 1969) et David Lee Strasberg (né en 1971).
Par l'entourage de Lee Strasberg, elle fréquente le gratin de l'Actors Studio et plusieurs célébrités: elle est amie avec Brooke Shields et Sophia Loren et est la marraine de l'actrice Drew Barrymore.

Quand Lee Strasberg décède en 1982, elle hérite de tous ses biens, qui comprenaient les biens de Marilyn, laissés à Lee Strasberg dans son testament, ainsi que 75% des revenus de Marilyn, après l'exécution des clauses spécifiques. Elle est devenue la seule bénéficiaire de Marilyn, même si elle ne la connaissait pas: en fait, elle ne l'a rencontrée que furtivement en 1960 (bien avant qu'elle ne connaisse Lee) alors qu'elle travaillait au Département culturel des Nations Unies à New York et Marilyn s'y était rendue pour un rendez-vous avec Jeff Sparks, à la tête du Département cultutel.

C'est aussi Anna Strasberg qui a communiqué les écrits de Marilyn à l'éditeur français Bernard Comment, permettant la publication en 2011 du livre Fragments.
Elle a souvent été décrié par les fans de Marilyn qui lui reprochent de détenir les biens de Marilyn, d'en avoir vendu un certain nombre aux enchères (éparpillant ainsi tout de son intimité), et d'avoir mal géré l'image de Marilyn jusque dans les années 1990s. En fait, cette succession d'héritage sur tout ce qui touche à Marilyn a été plus un fardeau pour Anna Strasberg: le stockage des biens dans des entrepôts sécurisés ont un certain coût, et Marilyn étant devenu un véritable mythe au fil des années, Anna n'était sans doute pas préparé à gérer tout l'aspect commercial et de communication sur Marilyn.

Born on April 16, 1939 under the name Anna Mizrahi in Caracas (Venezuela), she was an actress in Israel and then attended the free class at the Actors Studio in New York, whose classes were taught by Lee Strasberg. Anna Strasberg thus managed Marilyn's image (by dealing with numerous companies which marketed all kinds of derivative products in the 1980s and 1990s); and she has commissioned Christie's for the major auction of several items belonging to Marilyn in 1999. It was also Anna Strasberg who communicated Marilyn's writings to the French publisher Bernard Comment, allowing the publication of the book Fragments in 2011.

She has often been criticized by Marilyn's fans who accuse her of holding Marilyn's property, of having sold a certain number of them at auction (thus scattering all of her privacy), and of having mismanaged Marilyn's image. until the 1990s. In fact, this succession of inheritance on everything related to Marilyn has been more of a burden for Anna Strasberg: the storage of goods in secure warehouses has a certain cost, and Marilyn having become a real myth over the years, Anna was probably not prepared to handle the whole business side and communication about Marilyn.
