Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell) a invité sa voisine 'la fille' (Marilyn Monroe), à venir prendre un verre chez lui. Elle a apporté un paquet de chips, car elle adore les tremper dans du champagne. Elle improvise ensuite un air au piano: "Chopsticks" (un air composé par le musicien anglais Arthur de Lulli en 1877). Richard en profite alors pour tenter d'embrasser 'la fille'; mais surprise, ils tombent tous deux de leur chaise. Réalisant la méprise, Richard lui demande alors de partir.
Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell) has invited her neighbor 'the girl' (Marilyn Monroe) to take a drink at his apartment. She brought a bag of chips because she loves soaking it in champagne. She then improvised a tune on the piano: "Chopsticks" (a tune composed by English musician Arthur Lull in 1877). Richard then took the opportunity to try to kiss 'the girl', but she was surprised and they both fall in all of their chair. Realizing the mistake, Richard asked him to leave.

Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell) imagine que sa voisine 'la fille' (Marilyn Monroe), répend des rumeurs sur son compte, auprès de son plombier (Victor Moore). Dans cette scène, Marilyn a le petit doigt de pied coincé dans le robinet et le plombier tente de le lui enlever. Dans la scène d'origine, le plombier faisait tomber sa clef dans la baignoire et plongeait son bras dans la mousse pour la récupérer. Ce passage ayant été jugé contraire aux bonnes moeurs par le code Hays, il fut donc supprimé dans la version finale du film.
Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell) imagines that her neighbor 'the Girl' (Marilyn Monroe), repents of rumors about him, to the plumber (Victor Moore). In this scene, Marilyn has the little toe stuck in the faucet and the plumber tries to take it away. In the original scene, the plumber had dropped his key in the bath and plunged his arm into the foam to recover. This scene has been considered immoral by the Hays Code, so it was deleted from the final film.

Extrait du journal de Bruno Bernard:
(dernier jour de tournage studio à Hollywood, scène de la robe blanche, le 5 novembre 1954 ):
JOURNAL: (...) Plus tard, à la salle de projection, Marilyn était assise entre Sid Skolsky et IAL Diamond. Sur l'écran, se déroulait la scène du bain, plutôt osée (pour l'époque): alors que Marilyn se prélasse dans un bain de mousse, elle se prend le doigt de pied dans le robinet. Le plombier, joué par Victor Moore, est tellement fasciné par la lumineuse beauté de Marilyn, qu'il laisse tomber sa clef dans la baignoire et tente de la récupérer en tatônnant sous la mousse. A ce moment du film, Wilder souffle à Diamond: "Dommage que nous ayons dû couper la scène à cause de la commission Hays." Ce sur quoi, Marilyn se retourne et murmure: "Vous devriez la garder Billy, c'est la plus propre de tout le film!"
