(c. 1956-1961) Signed greeting card, “with love, from Marilyn & Daddy”. A 4.25 x 5.5 in. commercial Chanukah greeting card. Front features three children lighting a menorah on a windowsill. Inside is an illustration of a menorah, Hebrew characters and “Happy Chanukah” printed and the inscription and signature in blue ink. “An Israel Publication By Lion The Printed” is printed on the verso. The card shows age soiling and toning. Bumped lower right corner. Comes with original envelope with, “To Bobby” written in pen in Monroe’s hand. Overall, in fair condition.

Bumped corners and slight .25 inch tear with no paper loss at top center. In overall vintage fair condition.

(c. 1956-1961) Autograph letter signed, “Marilyn” on 2-page 6 x 8 in. leaf of “Mrs. Arthur Miller” stationery [Undated]. A heartfelt note to her niece handwritten in pen and reads, in full:
“Dear Mona Rae, I hardly know what to write about -- it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. Your mother told me you are away at school and I’m very proud of you. Also she told me what a lovely girl you are. I would love to see you and know you again. Are you going to get married soon? Your mother said you might. If it’s really so, I wish you all the happiness there is. I’m sure he must be wonderful if you love him. And the whole world must be a beautiful place because he’s there -- you see your old Auntie isn’t so old -- I know how it is. But please don’t rush -- but don’t hesitate either. You will know what you want and if you’r [sic] unsure life teaches us. Take care of yourself. I still see you as a little blonde headed brown eyed thin little girl as when I met you -- very sweet and you wanted to be an actress. You have time -- time for everything. “Love, Marilyn your Auntie.”
Marilyn gives encouragement and advice to her young niece. The note concludes on the verso and is signed at bottom right. Mild toning .25 in. tear with no paper loss at top center. Original folds. In overall good condition.

I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE UPCOMING AUCTION WITH PROFILES. IN 2000 WHEN I SEPARATED FROM A ABUSIVE BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP I HAD WITH VERY UNSAVORY PARTNERS. I WAS FACED WITH SPLITTING UP MY FATHERS BODY OF WORK AND GRANTING THEM THE COPYRIGHTS, A DECISION I REGRETTED EVERYDAY. I OFFERED MY GREEDY X PARTNERS 1.2 MIL & IT WAS NOT ENOUGH!!! SO IT SAT IN A VAULT IN NYC TILL 2005 WHEN THEY SOLD IT TO THE CURRENT OWNER FOR 500K. GO FIQURE.

THE BOTTOM LINE THE MM WORK IS MEDIOCRE AT BEST. THE BULK OF IT IS FROM THE SET OF BUS STOP & PRINCE, THAT IS WHY THE QUANTITIES ARE SO HIGH. THERE IS VERY LITTLE OF THE OTHER MM SITTINGS AND THEY ARE OUT, OUT, OUT, TAKES.

THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT IT IS HIS LIBRARY OF ALL THE OTHER PERSONALITIES AND FASHION HE DID OVER HIS LIFE TIME. SINCE I ALREADY OWN THE BEST OF HIS WORK WHICH IS 40 % OF THE COLLECTION INCLUDING THE BEST OF MM MY INTERESTS ARE IN THE OTHER WORKS FOR PERSONAL REASONS.

AS SAD AS THIS IS MAYBE IT WILL COME BACK HOME WHERE IT BELONGS.

THOUGHT YOU ALL SHOULD NO THE FACTS.

lot n°775: MARILYN MONROE BRA FROM "SOME LIKE IT HOT" GOWN
 A nude demi-cup foundation bra from Marilyn Monroe's flapper dress from the motion picture Some Like It Hot (UA, 1959). The costume, designed by Orry-Kelly, was restored and preserved in 1999, at which time it was determined that the bra was causing damage to the delicate fabric and removed from the dress. The bra was not intended for support but to hold Monroe's breasts in place while wearing the revealing gown. The clasp at the back of the bra is assumed to have been added after filming for publicity photographs where the strap would not be seen. The bra is housed in a frame with an image of Monroe in the dress. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from The Collection of Motion Picture Costume Design.

Accompanied by a Pontiac battery warranty brochure dated July 1, 1950, and a Pontiac owner service policy brochure that lists the vehicle body style as " 2527D ." Both brochures have Monroe's information typed on them.

Kreis Drugs was a drugstore and luncheonette located in the Beverly Wilshire hotel.

     A letter written to Marilyn Monroe from Lew Schreiber of 20th Century Fox advising that Monroe will begin shooting Time and Tide on April 14, 1959, under the direction of Elia Kazan. The letter is dated March 4, 1959, and signed by Schreiber. The date of this letter and the fact that filming did not begin on time is one battle in the Marilyn Monroe/20th Century Fox history.
