En mai 1955, Marilyn Monroe s'inscrit au célèbre cours de théâtre Actors Studio à New York. Elle prenait des cours privés tenus par le co-fondateur Lee Strasberg, qui avaient lieu à l'appartement de Strasberg. Mais il lui arrivait aussi de participer parfois à des séances publiques, comme le montrent ces images prises par le photographe Roy Schatt. Alors qu'elle était pourtant déjà une grande star hollywoodienne, Marilyn s'asseyait toujours au fond, restant incognito et s'habillant simplement, sans maquillage pour rester la plus discrète possible. On la découvre ici très concentrée et studieuse, discutant parfois avec ses voisins, en fumant une cigarette.

Scène où Rose Loomis (Marilyn Monroe) sort de son bungalow pendant que se tient une petite soirée où les touristes dansent. Elle apparaît dans une robe rose moulante, et demande à celui qui s'occupe du gramophone de jouer un disque qu'elle lui tend: il s'agit de la chanson "Kiss". Marchant lascivement, Rose va s'asseoir avec le couple Cutler (Max Showalter et Jean Peters) et chantonne langoureusement. Son mari George (Joseph Cotten) sort furieusement du bungalow et casse le disque de ses mains, se blessant la main, puis retourne dans son bungalow. L'assistance est stupéfaite, mais pas Rose. Polly propose d'aller soigner la main de George. Polly et son mari Ray vont ainsi discuter avec George et apprendre à le connaître; pendant ce temps, Rose va téléphoner à son amant.
Le 26 octobre 1952, Marilyn Monroe est invitée au show radiophonique d'Edgar Bergen, un ventriloque, qui animait une émission avec deux marionnettes: Charlie McCarthy et Mortimer Snerd. Marilyn s'est prêtée au jeu, prenant des poses de séductrice avec les pantins. Elle était vêtue de la fameuse robe rouge du film Niagara. L'émission sera diffusée sur les ondes deux jours plus tard, le 28 octobre.
