Meanwhile Marilyn has slimmed down to the point where her chassis never looked better, and anyone who thinks she is unhappy about Arthur Miller’s recent wedding just doesn’t know her. She was alerted well in advance of the nuptials, and couldn’t care less.

Marilyn Ends Mexico Vacation -HOLLYWOOD (AP)
Marilyn Monroe ended a Mexico City vacation yesterday returning to Hollywood in dark glasses, mink coat, tan slacks and a gaily coloured blouse. The movie queen wore little or no makeup when she stepped from the plane at Los Angeles International Airport. It wasn't established immediately how long she'll remain in the film capital or whether she'll be working. She told newsmen she may make a movie, "Something's Got to Give," but she wasn't sure. "It's supposed to be a comedy," she added. Asked about boy friends, she was especially vague.
She said she didn't know whether ex-husband Joe Dimaggio planned to visit her. She denied knowledge, in fact, of the baseball celebrity's whereabouts.

An x-ray of Marilyn Monroe's chest is going under the auctioneer's hammer along with other memorabilia.

An x-ray of Marilyn Monroe's chest taken by a young doctor in 1954 when she was admitted to the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital for surgery for endometriosis. The doctor apparently later used the x-ray in lectures to students and more recently left the x-ray to his daughter who is putting it up for sale. It is expected to sell for up to $1,200.
The X-ray is just one of many Monroe-related items up for sale at an auction being staged at the Planet Hollywood resort and casino in Las Vegas on June 26 this year by Julien's Auctioneers .

Other items include this couch from the office of Marilyn Monroe's therapist, Dr. Ralph Greenson. Greenson began treating Marilyn after her breakdown while filming The Misfits (1961).
 

Marilyn Monroe's change of rate card from 20th Century Fox dated May 11, 1953. Monroe's weekly pay rate changed from $750.00 to $1,250.

Marilyn, qui rencontra des difficultés pour avoir un enfant, notamment lors de son mariage avec Arthur Miller (elle subit plusieurs fausses couches), avait le projet d'adopter un enfant. Son attaché de presse Patricia Newcomb l'accompagne.

During her trip in Mexico in late February 1962, Marilyn Monroe goes to the orphanage "National Institute for the Protection of Children" in Mexico City, where she will donate $ 10 000; and she will be interviewed by Eva Samano, the wife of President Adolfo Lopez Mateos (1958 to 1964) and very committed to the protection of children, she was called "National Mother". L'actrice Jacqueline Andere raconta que: "L'arrivée de Marilyn Monroe était une autre chose énorme. Elle rendit visite à Bunuel. Nous la vîmes arriver un verre de champagne à la main."

Une partie de l'aspect d'effroi, de terreur induite du film provient de son extraordinaire photographie en noir et blanc. Le caméraman était Gabriel Figueroa, qui avait tiré les plus grandes photos mexicaines de Buñuel. Figueroa était le plus vénéré, et probablement le meilleur, de tous les directeurs de la photographie mexicains. Il a travaillé au Mexique et à Hollywood, pour John Ford et John Huston et "El Indio" Fernández. Le gars était tellement froid, Marilyn Monroe est venu lui rendre visite sur le tournage de "L'ange exterminateur!"; Monroe a demandé à Figueroa pourquoi il était si coincé. Part of the awe-inspiring, terror-inducing aspect of the film comes from its extraordinary black-and-white photography. The cameraman was Gabriel Figueroa, who had shot most of Buñuel’s great Mexican pictures. Figueroa was the most revered, and probably the best, of all Mexican cinematographers. He worked in Mexico and Hollywood, for John Ford and John Huston and “El Indio” Fernández. The guy was so chill, Marilyn Monroe came to visit him on the set of The Exterminating Angel! Monroe asked Figueroa why it was so cramped. While Buñuel waited, Figueroa told her the story of the film.” - Alex Cox.

D'après le livre Mes Stars , Willy Rizzo affirme que la séance avec Marilyn eut lieu en Juillet 1962, 15 jours avant son décès, ce qui est impossible puisque "Paris Match" en fera sa couverture le samedi 23 juin 1962. En réalité, la séance eut lieu bien avant, en février.
Rizzo rêvait de rencontrer Marilyn: "Un jour, un ami metteur en scène, à qui je raconte mon histoire, ne me laisse pas finir:
-'J'ai tout compris, je connais bien l'agent de Marilyn, on va lui téléphoner tout de suite':
-'Je suis actuellement avec mon copain Willy Rizzo, du grand magazine Paris Match. Il est venu spécialement de Paris pour photographier Marilyn (faux, je faisais un reportage sur Hollywood). Est-ce que tu pourrais lui arranger quelque chose ?'
-'Impossible. Ca ne va pas, elle a des problèmes, elle refuse tout.'
-'Oui, mais elle n'a pas une très bonne presse en ce moment. Tu ne trouves pas que ça lui ferait du bien d'avoir de jolies photos dans un grand magazine?'
-'Je vais voir ce que je peux faire mais je ne promets rien'.
Willy Rizzo avait peu d'espoir, lorsque quelques jours plus tard, son agent confirme la séance: Rizzo suggère de la photographier chez elle mais l'agent refuse. Le jour même, une amie de Rizzo met sa maison à disposition. Il propose de tenir la séance le matin, moment où la lumière est la plus belle: "L'agent est stupéfait qu'on puisse imaginer que Marilyn se lèverait pour faire des photos".
Mais Marilyn va se faire désirer, avec une succession de rendez-vous annulés:
1/ Le rendez-vous est fixé le surlendemain à 15 heures. Mais le jour venu, l'agent l'appelle à 17 heures: "Elle ne peut pas venir, elle ne se sent pas bien".
2/ La séance est reportée le lendemain à la même heure. Marilyn arrive à 18 heures, alors que la lumière naturelle disparaît. Rizzo s'impatiente: "Mais quand je la vois, ma mauvaise humeur disparaît. Le corps, les cheveux, la peau, le regard, la démarche, les plus belles photos d'elle que j'ai vues sont en dessous de la réalité. Elle est magique... et elle s'excuse: -'Pardonnez-moi, je suis sincèrement désolée, je suis si fatiguée. Demain, je vous le promets, je vous le jure, je serai à l'heure'. Et elle m'embrasse! Je lui répond: 'Pour vous, je pourrai attendre une semaine'.
3/ Le lendemain, même heure, même décor. Marilyn arrive à 'son' heure: 17 heures. "Elle était aussi belle que la veille, mais avec un fond de tristresse qu'elle ne cherche même pas à cacher. Elle s'était fait maquiller  avant de venir et ce n'était pas une réussite (...) Elle a été d'une douceur et d'une docilité étonnantes, à des années lumière de son image publique".
