15/09/1954 NYC - Sur le tournage de The Seven Year Itch partie 2

Date: September 15, 1954, at one o'clock.
Location: between 51 and 52st Street on the corner of Lexington Avenue.
Scene: it is a mythical scene, one of the most famous in the history of cinema, which is probably the "most scene view in the world," the one where the white dress of Marilyn Monroe rises, driven by the blow of the subway grate. The press spoke of as "the most interesting exhibition since Lady Godiva".

syi_sc11_on_set_by_bruno_bernard_1 syi_sc11_on_set_by_bruno_bernard_2

Extraits du journal de Bruno Bernard:
- Le magazine Redbook engagea Bruno Bernard pour couvrir le tournage de Marilyn dans The Seven Year Itch.
- New York - 14/09/1954.

He needs a more iconic and glamorous image to make the cover of Motor World (published in June, 19) magazine to emphasis on the roadster Singer car. He invites Sammy Davis Jr. (who, besides being an actor, singer, dancer and musician, is interested in photography by collecting cameras and practicing amateur photography). Sammy comes with Arthur Silbert, his best friend and business partner. And they pose together with Marilyn Monroe in front of the car.
Arthur Silbert later tell: "Normally having nothing to do during the day as we worked at night in all-night clubs around the country, it was our practise to spend a lot of time hanging out at the studios visiting friends."

To Art, Love and kisses, Marilyn Monroe".
On one of the photographs, Marilyn signs a photo of her to Arthur Silbert: "To Art, Love and kisses, Marilyn Monroe".
Arthur Silbert will explain: "After the brief shoot, the photographer took a picture of all three us standind and sitting on and around the car. Sammy and I each had been given a pictures of Marilyn and we asked her to autograph the for us."

Epreuves Cinématographiques n°4

epreuvescinema_banner

Jean-Louis Capitaine.

4/11/1953 Première How to marry a millionaire

4/03/1953 Première Call Me Madam

Marilyn retrouvera d'ailleurs Donald O'Connor et Etherl Merman l'année suivante, puisqu'ils seront ses partenaires dans le film There's no business like show business.
