Premières photographies professionnelles de Norma Jeane Dougherty au printemps / été 1945 par David Conover, le photographe envoyé par l'armée qui l'a "découverte" à l'usine début Novembre 1944; après quoi, il l'a photographié pendant deux semaines, se rendant à l'usine. Ce serait ensuite au Printemps 1945 qu'il l'aurait amené dans divers endroits naturels en Californie pour la photographier (à Berstow, Riverside, Bakersfield, Furnace Creek) puis, Conover ayant obtenu un congé de deux semaines en juillet, il serait parti en voyage avec elle pour effectuer des séances à travers le désert de Mohave, jusqu'au Mont Whitney, puis dans la Vallée de la Mort. 

First professional photographs of Norma Jeane Dougherty in the spring / summer of 1945 by David Conover, the photographer sent by the army who "discovered" her at the factory early November 1944, after that he photographed her for two weeks, going to the factory. It would then be in the Spring of 1945 that he would have taken her to various natural places in California to photograph her (in Berstow, Riverside, Bakersfield, Furnace Creek) then, Conover having obtained a two-week leave in July, he would have left in travels with her to make shootings through the Mohave Desert, up to Mount Whitney, and then into Death Valley.

Le 17 mars 1952, Marilyn Monroe assiste au match de Base-Ball des Hollywood Stars contre les All-Stars, au Gilmore stadium de Los Angeles, à but caritatif dont les bénéfices iront au "Kiwanis Club For Children". C'est la première fois que Marilyn assiste à un match où joue Joe DiMaggio. Marilyn porte la robe rouge du film Niagara.
On March 17, 1952, Marilyn Monroe attends the Base-Ball match featuring the Hollywood Stars against the All-Stars at the Gilmore stadium in Los Angeles, a charity game whose profits goes to "Kiwanis Club For Children". This is the first time that Marilyn attends a match where Joe DiMaggio plays. Marilyn wears the red dress of the movie "Niagara".

Mars 1951, Marilyn Monroe pose pour des photos publicitaires avec des joueurs de baseball de l'équipe des Chicago White Sox: Joe Dobson, Edward Erautt, Gus Zernial et Hank Majeskie; c'est notamment par l'une de ces photos que Joe DiMaggio découvrira Marilyn et voudra la rencontrer.

Norma Jeane âgée de 15 ans, à la plage de Santa Monica en Californie en juillet 1941: il s'agit des première images filmées de la future Marilyn Monroe, un film de famille filmé ici par la famille Howell, des amis et voisins de Grace Goddard.
Chester et Doris Howell ont trois filles: l'aîné et deux jumelles (Loralee et Doralee). Les films de famille montrent Norma Jeane avec la famille Howell, s'amusant à faire la roue sur le sable; à jouer dans les vagues de l'océan; à faire la ronde en marchant sur le sable.
Des années plus tard, Mme Howell témoignera dans un documentaire de cette période: "C'était une fille adorable et nous l'aimions. (..) C'était merveilleux de l'avoir à la plage avec nous. Elle était simplement une adolescente joyeuse, jouant dans l'eau, faisant juste des roues sur le sable, s'amusant vraiment. Nous avons acheté son premier maillot de bain, elle était vraiment douce."
Quand à Marilyn, elle racontera plus tard en interview: "J'adorais jouer avec les enfants du quartier".

Chester and Doris Howell have three daughters: the oldest and two twins (Loralee and Doralee). The Family home movies show Norma Jeane with the Howells, having fun cartwheeling on the sand; to play in the ocean waves; to go around walking on the sand.
Years later, Ms Howell will tell in a documentary, talking about this period: "She was a lovely girl and we loved to her. (..) It was wonderful to have her at the beach with us. She was just a happy tennager, playing in the water, just doing cartwheels on sand, really enjoyng herself. We bought her first bathing suit, she was soft real."
As for Marilyn, she will tell later in an interview: "I loved playing with children of the neighborhood".

Photographies de Norma Jeane en 1945, sans doute une commande de l'agence Blue Book, peut être destinée au catalogue de vente par correspondance "Montgomery Ward Catalogue". Elle porte deux maillots de bain deux pièces de la marque Catalina qui doivent lui appartenir (un à rayures et un bicolore avec un motif d'oiseau) car elle les portera à nouveau dans plusieurs autres séances photos.

Photographs by Norma Jeane in 1945, probably commissioned by the Blue Book agency, maybe for the "Montgomery Ward Catalog" a mail order catalog. She wears two two-piece swimsuits of brand Catalina that must be her own (one in stripes and one in two-tone with a bird motif) as she will be wearing them again in several more photoshoots.

En 1951, un reportage photographique montre Marilyn Monroe au lycée Van Nuys High School de Los Angeles, qu'elle a fréquenté de septembre 1941 à février 1942.
Les raisons de son retour au lycée restent floues: dans la presse de l'époque où les photos sont publiées, il est soit indiqué qu'elle rend visite à l'une de ses anciennes mères adoptives (et sur son chemin, aurait fait un détour par l'école), soit qu'elle fait un don de vêtements (une hypothèse peu probable, de par sa maigre garde robe en 1951), soit une mise en scène pour la presse.
L'une des photographies est publiée dans le magazine Look du 23 octobre 1951, sous le crédit du photographe Earl Theisen.

In 1951, a photographic report shows Marilyn Monroe at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles, which she attended from September 1941 to February 1942.
The reasons for her return to high school remain unclear: in the press at the time the photos are published, it is indicated that she is visiting one of her former adoptive mothers (and on her way, would have made a detour through the school), or that she donates clothes (an unlikely hypothesis, due to her meager wardrobe in 1951), or just a production for the press.
One of the photographs is published in Look magazine in October 23, 1951, with the credit of photographer Earl Theisen.
